About the Resort -
Wolf Creek is spread out over more than 1,600 acres of high alpine ridges in the Rio Grande Forest. The Alberta Lift area is one of the most unique aspects of Wolf Creek, which lies in the 1,000 acres that exists between the Water Fall area and the Horseshoe Bowl. Here you will find everything from challenging double blacks to a variety of intermediate terrain where exceptional navigation skills are truly called into action. You will also find groomed runs here, complimenting the Alberta Lift area's challenge and excitement. Six lifts service more than 600 acres of terrain, all of which eventually lead into the base area. This is one of the oldest and finest ski resorts in Colorado, and is well worth visiting if you ever happen to travel to Colorado.
What You Need to Know -
Wolf Creek Ski Area easily sees around 465 inches of natural snowfall, which is more snowfall than most resorts see throughout the year. This is a high alpine ski resort located 10,300 feet at the base and 11,900 feet at the summit, offering more than 1,600 acres of terrain to ski along. Wolf Creek purchases all of their power usage from a green wind power supplier both for summer operations and winter operations as well. They are also introducing a free car pool service online because of rising fuel costs and increasing environmental concerns.
Tips for Beginners -
Not only does Wolf Creek offer rental packages for beginners who do not yet have their own gear, but you can also find a wide variety of instruction here. Whether you are just hitting the slopes for the first time ever, or looking to brush up on your skills at the beginning of the season, the group or private instruction offered by Wolf Creek will absolutely get you where you need to go. Brushing up on your skills at the beginning of the season is a wise choice, especially if it's been a year since you last hit the slopes.
