About the Resort:
Skiing the slopes of the Telluride Ski Resort is just about the same as skiing the naked, raw slopes of a natural mountain. There is a historic charm here that is accompanied by the natural beauty and world class skiing that is available. The peaks stand tall at 14 thousand feet. The mountain, pure white from frequent powdering, offers courses of all difficulty levels for riders of all experience levels. The town of Telluride is untouched from it's nineteenth century days, nestled in a box canyon. The other side of the mountain shows the ski village Mountain. The Mountain Village is inspired by European sources and is home to numerous exciting activities worth experiencing, including upscale shopping, food and lodges as well.
What You Need to Know:
The peaks that you will find at the Telluride Ski Resort can easily reach as high as over 3500 feet tall at a peak elevation of 12,260 feet. The peak of the mountain receives over 300 inches of snow a year with only about 15 percent of the mountain snow being created artificially every year as a supplement. The large expanse of the mountain covers more than 1,700 acres worth of beautiful Colorado countryside. There are 92 different ski trails, with difficulties ranging from the greens at 24 percent, Blues at 38 percent and difficult Black Diamonds at 38 percent. No matter what skill level you possess, there are certainly plenty of different trails to take advantage of so that you never become bored. The large number of ski trails requires a wide selection of different ski lifts for operations, and the Telluride Ski Resort has the capacity to handle upwards of 21,200 people at a time.
Tips for Beginners:
The Telluride resort day school covers the finer points of skiing and snowboarding down the slopes of the mountain side. If you are looking for assistance in learning the basics when it comes to skiing or snowboarding at Telluride, then make sure to see what the assistance classes can offer you in the Telluride resort day school. The classes are staffed by highly trained individuals, including a highly respected, gold medal Olympic medalist, Jonny Moseley. Mr. Moseley is the "Ambassador of Skiing" at the Telluride Ski Resort. One of the programs that is available is a three day skiing camp for more intermediate and expert skiers.
Fees:
The lift tickets are priced as follows - Adults pay $85 for a full day ticket at the Telluride Ski Resort, and $72 for a half day which starts at 12:30pm.
