Switch - This is a term that is used to describe any trick that involves the take off or the landing being backwards.
Switch Take Off - This is a term that is used to describe taking off for a jump in a backwards fashion.
Symmetrical Design - This is a term that is used to describe when all of the components of design for the shape and the side cut of a board happen to be parallel in their design. This is the opposite, of course, of an asymmetrical design. This also refers to positioning a rider on a snowboard when there is a smaller amount of angulation or less opposing angulation necessary.
Tail - This is a term that is used to describe the very rear tip of a ski or a snowboard.
Tail Bonk - This is a term that is used to describe hitting an object with the very back tip of the snowboard while riding.
Tail Grab - This is a term that is used to describe a situation where the hand in the rear reaches to grab the very back of the snowboard while riding.
Tail Poke - This is a term that is used to describe a maneuver where you are boning the rear leg and poking out the snowboard tail in a direction that is away from the body, typically in the process of grabbing.
Tail Protector or Tip Protector - This is a term that is used to describe a metal plate that is built into the tip or the tail of the snowboard. The purpose of the tail protector or tip protector is to prevent the board from sustaining damage while simultaneously controlling the swing weight of the board.
Tail Slide - This is a term that is used to describe sliding along on the ground or on an object while only riding on the very tail of the snowboard.
Tail Tap - This is a term that is used to describe hitting an object with the very back tip of the snowboard while riding.
Tail Wheelie - This is a term that is used to describe riding solely along the snowboard's tail, while the nose of the snowboard is up in the air.
Taipan Air - This is a term that is used to describe a situation where the front hand is reaching behind the foot in the front, grabbing the snowboard's toe edge between each of the bindings. The boarder's front knee should be bent so that it can touch the board in the tuck knee style.
