PTex - This is one of a number of names that are used to describe a plastic base material that is used on snowboards.
Quarter Pipe - This is a half pipe that only has one wall.
Rail - On a snowboard there are two rails, and each rail is comprised of an edge as well as a sidewall.
Rail Slide - This is also known as a board slide, and involves sliding on a lip or an obstacle where the underside of the board is the contact point.
Rear Foot - This is the foot that is mounted closer to the rail out of the two.
Rear Hand - This is the hand that is located the closest to the snowboard's tail.
Regular Foot - This involves riding with your left foot forward, in contrast to goofy foot.
Revert - This means to switch from riding in the fakie style to riding forward, or switching the other way around, and usually is done while the board is still on the ground rather than in the air during a trick.
Rewind - This is a term that is used for describing any maneuver that involves initiating a rotation, stopping the rotation and then reversing the momentum.
Rippey Flip - This involves straight back flipping toward the front side turning a 360 while utilizing a method grab.
Roast Beef - This involves reaching down between the legs using the rear hand, grabbing the board's heel edge between each binding while boning the front leg. The wrist is also rotated in an inward direction in order to complete this grab.
Rock and Roll - This is a trick that involves tapping the board's underside on the lip.
Rodeo - This involves turning a front side 180 while simultaneously completing a 360 while inverted in order to achieve a total of 540 degrees. A 720 Rodeo exists when you turn for a front side 360 while simultaneously completing a 360 while inverted.
Rodeo Flip - This is a partially inverted 360 degree flip with the addition of a back flip.
Rolling Down the Windows - This is a phrase that is utilized to describe when someone ends up caught off balance, rotating their arms in the air wildly in an attempt to recover.
Rubber Dampening Systems - These systems incorporate rubber into their construction of a snowboard as a means of dampening vibrations while providing the board with certain characteristics for greater performance at the same time.
