Snowbird Ski Resort is located in: Snowbird, UT

About the Resort:
Snowbird Resort is a very family friendly resort that actually hooks into the Alta Resort – another great place to ski in Utah. We found this to be an ideal place to take the kids and there are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. This is actually a pretty large resort, and when you factor in the size of the neighboring Alta Resort, you’ll be getting quite a lot for your money when you stay here.
What You Need to Know:
Snowbird offers more than 2500 acres of ski-able space, and you’ll rarely find it to be crowded. It is a popular resort, but they’ve managed to keep everything spaced out and running smoothly. There are 85 trails and 13 lifts and we did not find that we had to wait very long to get where we wanted to go.
The season is actually quite long here, running from mid-November through mid-May. With more than 500 inches of snow a year here, you’re pretty much guaranteed that the trails are going to be superb. They also supplement this with manufactured snow and we found the trails to be very well groomed and fun to traverse.
Tips for Beginners:
You’ll definitely want to avoid the Great Scott trail, but there are quite a few here that are just perfect for beginners. 27% of their trails are beginner friendly and you’ll be able to learn and perfect some really good skills while you’re here. Definitely take advantage of their package deals for lessons since you can save quite a bit of money if you do.
Speaking of lessons, they are offered throughout the day and they range in complexity. Whether you are a new beginner, need some freshening up, or you are trying to perfect your skills, you’ll be able to find the perfect class to help you do just that. There is also a terrain park which is great for beginners and if you’re in to snowboarding, there are also lessons and facilities that are available for this as well.
