Another element of skiing that is both proper and safe is going to mean being outfitted properly and safely so that you are protected from a number of different elements. Some of the things that you need to be protecting yourself against are dampness internally, external humidity and colder temperatures. Packing the right ski clothing combination can certainly be tricky, but if you pack the following items you will almost certainly be covered for any kind of conditions that you end up experiencing out there on the slopes: You should have 3 fleece tops, 1 pair of goggles, 1 hat, 1 headband, 1 pair of ski gloves, 1 ski jacket, 1 pair of ski pants, 3 pairs of ski socks, 1 pair of sunglasses, 3 sweaters, 2 sets of thermal underwear.
Rather than wearing a single thick layer of clothing, what you should be doing is dressing in layers. It is generally recommended that you stick to the standard three layer clothing system. This means that you should have a base layer, then an insulating layer and finally a protective outer layer. The outer layer of your clothing should absolutely be waterproof as well as windproof, and it should be made of a material that is breathable so that perspiration will be allowed to escape, keeping you dry and cool.
You should be wearing a fleece, first and foremost, as they are warm, light weight and also capable of drying quickly. Next, you should add a sweater made of acrylic material or wool. Over the sweater you should be wearing a jacket and ski pants made from goose down or eider. These things will increase your protection from the snow and the elements, keeping you warm without overwhelming you, and keeping you safe.
The gloves that you choose should be thick enough that your fingers and hands are protected, but they also are going to need to be flexible enough that you can hold your ski poles in a comfortable way. You should also be choosing a warm fleece hat capable of covering your ears, as you will lose a lot of heat from your head otherwise.
You should only be wearing a single pair of socks at a time, because wearing more socks is going to reduce your feet blood circulation, making your feet colder and more susceptible to frostbite. You should choose thick socks made from a stretchy material in order to avoid getting blisters. Finally, when it comes to choosing underwear, wool thermal underwear is best because it provides greater protection as well as warmth in comparison to cotton.
Your sunglasses should provide 100% UV ray protection, and they should be shatterproof as well as be the kind that wraps around your head and your ears securely. You can wear goggles over your sunglasses if you are skiing in harsh conditions like snow or rain.
