Skier Profile for Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Vonn was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on 10/18/1984. Her hometown, however, is Vail Colorado which is where she got her start in skiing. She has been skiing for a total of nine years, and has claimed titles both as a junior and upon reaching adulthood as well. Lindsey Vonn is one of very few four event world class ski races. Not only did she win World Cup titles in overall and downhill, but she is also the only American skier ever to win at the Trofeo Topolino in Italy, earning junior Worlds Medals as well as US titles while still a teenager. Only six weeks after she turned 20 she earned her first World Cup victory, and won a silver in downhill and a super G at Worlds in 2007.

Where She Is Now -

The 2008 ski season has been a record breaking one for Lindsey Vonn. She became the first American woman to win the overall World Cup since 1983, and she also won five separate downhill races and was named the most successful downhiller in all of United States history, surpassing the greats Daron Rahlves and hero Pcabo Street with ten wins. On February 22 she secured the World Cup downhill title, joining Street as the only other American to ever win the downhill title. She is still clearly going strong and only continues to beat her previous records year after year.
