About the Resort -
This skiing season will mark the 40th anniversary of the Ski Sundown resort, which originally opened all the way back in 1969. By 1984, the resort achieved 100% snow making capabilities. In 1990, all of the trails were opened up to snowboarders, who by 2003 also saw the first terrain park opening as well. Growing from a single pair of employees to a staff of over four hundred hardworking individuals, the resort has grown into a great place to go and ski in Connecticut.

The resort features 5 different lifts, and this includes 3 different triple lifts, giving the mountain a 8,040 person an hour capacity. Half of the trails are rated beginners, and the other half is split evenly between intermediate and challenging routes. The 15 trails cover the 65 acres of resort that make up the mountain, which has a 100% snow making capacity. The skiing season starts in early December and ends in late March, providing skiers with around 95 excellent days worth of skiing. There are plenty of lodging options available for the visiting guest, with multiple hotels and inns available. All of these options are available so that you can enjoy your stay and winters full of fun skiing and snowboarding adventures along with plenty of other things to do and see. The resort features group packages for children and adults, helping to provide teams and groups with an overall sense of teamwork and skill.
