About the Resort:

This great resort is tucked away into the Sierra National Forest. Extremely friendly towards beginners, but also well suited to professionals, this is one of the nicest ski resorts we’ve ever come across in this area. The atmosphere is very friendly and the management goes above and beyond to make sure you’re happy. The fees are also incredibly low considering the quality of the runs. It’s easy to see why so many people return here year after year.

What You Need to Know:

There are a total of 45 trails, and 11 lifts, which move quite a few people an hour. There is also a great ski lift that is more like a carpet that is ideal for children or those just learning to ski. These lifts can be found near the beginner areas, which we’ll go more into detail about below.

The onsite lodging is very reasonably priced and we highly recommend staying on site, especially if you plan on doing a lot of skiing. Many people actually end up renting a vacation home here, due to the high quality of this resort and it’s prime location in the heart of central California.

Tips for Beginners:

There is an entire area that is dedicated to beginners and we found it to be on the most beginner friendly resorts in the state. Although only 11% of the trails are intended for beginners, there are many places to learn how to ski and then safely test your skills. The ski carpet is a lot of fun in its own right, and everything is made very simple.

We found the instructors to be very knowledgeable and this is a great place to send kids for ski school, considering that the resort offers very low prices for students, and some great instructional programs. Adults will have plenty of chances to learn as well and lessons are offered throughout the day.
