Mountain High Ski Resort is located in: Wrightwood, CA
Phone: (888) 754-7878

About the Resort:
This is actually three resorts all bundled into one, offering a massive amount of space and plenty of chances for fun. This is considered to be one of the premier ski resorts in Southern California. Some of the drops here are simply jaw dropping, but there are still plenty of spots for beginners to learn some new skills. The facilities here are definitely some of the best we’ve seen and we appreciated the fact that they offer flexible pricing, by the day, run or even hour.
What You Need to Know:
The season starts here in late November and goes through April. They do manufacture snow since the area only gets about 155 inches of snow a year. However, we found that the runs were all immaculately groomed and the management takes excellent care of the facilities.
There are eighteen lifts in operation, so even though this is a popular resort, you won’t have to worry too much about waiting in line. The three resorts are spread out over 500 acres and make up three distinct mountains.
Tips for Beginners:
This is the perfect place for beginners to learn how to ski, thanks in a large part to the excellent beginner runs, which account for 22% of the total trails, as well as the low fees. You’ll be able to spend exactly what you want on your lift ticket and further discounts are available for their training lessons.
This is one of the best places in the area to learn snowboarding as well as skiing and we found that the instructors were well versed in good skiing principles and were very skilled at teaching. If you have kids that need to learn how to ski, or you want to try your hand at it, this is a great place to start.
