About the Resort -

The Monarch Mountain Resort is located at the top of the Continental Divide, allowing it to receive a huge amount of snow from every angle, all over the 800 acres of in bounds ski terrain and more than 1000 acres of snowcat terrain that skiers can take advantage of. Monarch Mountain Resort provides a truly unforgettable experience for both new skiers and snowboarders, and experienced winter sportsters as well. The Monarch Mountain Resort was founded in 1939 and is the second oldest ski area in Colorado. The Monarch Mountain Resort gets more than 350 inches of snow every year, making it one of the best skiing destinations in the state for new and experienced skiers and snowboarders.

What You Need to Know -

The Monarch Mountain Resort offers plenty of additional recreation and activity including backcountry touring, cross country skiing, and plenty of summer activities. The Monarch Mountain Resort offers an 11,952 foot mountain summit, 800 acres of terrain and 350 annual inches of snow. The season begins near the end of November every year and ends in mid April the following year. The Monarch Mountain Resort offers a diverse selection of terrain, including 14 percent green, 55 percent blue, 31 percent black diamond and 63 different trails. The longest run is 5,280 feet, and the toughest trail is the Staircase Lifts.

Tips for Beginners -

There are a diverse number of instructional programs that are fun for all ages and ability levels, allowing first time skiers and snowboarders and advanced riders through individual programs and advanced programs as well. There are also rental packages for skiers and snowboarders lacking the right equipment. Ski packages are $18 dollars for adults and seniors and $12 dollars for juniors. Snowboarding packages are $21 dollars across the board.

The Monarch Mountain Resort offers weekday lift tickets, with adult tickets ranging between $39 dollars and $54 dollars for half day and full day tickets respectively. Junior weekday tickets are $13 dollars for half day and $20 dollars for full day tickets. Senior tickets are $29 dollars for full day lift tickets and only $19 dollars for half day tickets. The pricing structure is the same for weekend and holiday lift tickets, which sets the Monarch Mountain Resort apart from competing ski resorts. The Monarch Mountain Resort also offers military discounts, senior discounts, children under the age of 6 discounts, group rates and multiple day discounts.

The Monarch Mountain Resort has really raised the bar when it comes to season passes, offering skiing and snowboarding at Loveland, Purgatory, Sunlight, Powderhorn, Angel Fire, and Pajarito in addition to all of the regular benefits associated with the season skiing and snowboarding passes.
