First time or beginner level snowboarders and skiers who are visiting the Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont in the early end of the season have been invited to take part in a completely complimentary program for learning how to ski or learning how to snowboard at no cost at all. This is a unique offer that has been designed to generate more excitement for snow sports and winter sports, encouraging trials at the start of the winter season. This free offer is set to start in December, which marks the beginning of the ski and snowboarding season for Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont.
The beginner package that Okemo offers includes a free combination lower mountain lift ticket, a beginner group lesson at level 1 or level 2 either at 10 o'clock am or 1 o'clock pm, and a special rental equipment at the introductory level for free as well, including boots and snowboard or skis, boots and poles. The Learn to Ski and Learn to Snowboard for free program is designed to cater to everyone above the age of 7, and it is offered at absolutely no charge every day beginning from Monday, December 1, 2008 until Friday, December 19, 2008 or possibly longer.
The resort is encouraging that reservations can be made. This can be done by calling 1 (802) 228 1600. Those who arrive without having made a reservation are still welcome to participate provided that there is space available. Program attendees should arrive at the Okemo Mountain Resort Express Rental Shop, which is located at the base area for the Okemo Clock Tower. They should intend to arrive about an hour before the lesson time, so that they can allow for the fitting of equipment and program registration. Although the entire package is free of charge, a beginner package ticket is required and a credit card deposit is required in order to participate and rent equipment.
Upon the completion of the program for skiing or snowboarding, participants will qualify to receive a free First Tracks Plus card, which entitles card holders to a $10 savings on all future rental equipment and group lessons on weekends and on holidays, and a $20 savings on all group lessons and all rentals on non-holiday weekdays for the entire duration of the season.
Beginning skiers and snowboarders who will be in the Okemo Mountain Resort area during the month of December are encouraged to participate in their "learn to ski" and "learn to snowboard" program. This is a first time, unprecedented program, as most resorts charge for beginners' lessons as well as rental equipment.
