Deer Valley Resort is located in: Park City, UT

About the Resort:
Deer Valley Resort is one of the largest places to ski in Utah and features six different mountains. With that kind of variety, it's easy for skiers of all skill levels to enjoy their time here. It has been consistently ranked as the top American ski resort by readers of Ski Magazine and it's easy to see why after you go here. We had a great time and whether you're going with family or friends, chances are you'll want to come back again and again.
What You Need to Know:
With more than 2000 acres of ski-able terrain, almost 100 trails and plenty of lifts, you'll never feel crowded during your stay. The lifts move nearly 50,000 people an hour, so standing in line is almost unheard of, accept for maybe a few minutes during the peak seasons and times.
There are also six bowls and several terrain parks, so if you love snowboarding, this is a great place to visit. The season opens a bit late here, during the first week in December, but they do stay open through Mid-April. The area gets around 300 inches of snow, so they do supplement that with a little manufactured snow, especially during the dry years. We found that the trails were all very well maintained and groomed. Overall, for the money, this is one of the nicest resorts we've been to in the Park City area.
Tips for Beginners:
26% of the trails here are meant for beginners, and they are very gentle, offering a great place to learn the art of skiing. You won't be terribly intimidated here and there are plenty of places to enjoy yourself and have fun. Lessons are very reasonably priced and they do offer special packages so that you can save even more money on rented gear and lift tickets if you get lessons.
The Mahre Center Training Camps are held here often, so if you want a great chance to learn some terrific ski techniques, try to schedule your vacation while these are being held. However, the daily lessons are also great at providing the fundamentals of skiing.
