Dakota Roche on How to Stay Loose and Not Get Rusty in the Off Season

http://www.dakotaroche.com/How's it going guys? My name is Dakota Roche. I’m writing today on Snowboarding Skier to share an observation of mine for everyone to consider. Keep reading; it can definitely help!

The main sport that I'm into is BMX. I've been pro for 3 years and have been riding for total of 11. Obviously BMX is what I'm most dedicated to but I'm also really into skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding as well. All of which have been a huge part of my life ever since I was a wee lad. With that being said, I have definitely learned quite a bit about each sport as time has gone on, but one observation in particular has stuck in my mind as something to share with everyone, so here we go.

Growing up and living in southern California has allowed me to do all the sports I'm into thanks to the beautiful weather and awesome scene. I ride BMX, skateboard and surf year around but unfortunately only get to snowboard about 4 months out of the year. With that being said, it's obvious that the amount that I get to snowboard in relation to all the other sports I'm into is quite a bit less. I've had talks with people who don't really do any other extreme sports besides snowboarding and I've heard them complain about being rusty when the first few sessions of the season roll around. This exact situation brings me to my main point that I want to explain to everyone.

I've realized that since I ride, skate, and surf on a regular basis that when snowboarding season finally comes, I'm already more comfortable on my snowboard than the previous season. It's amazing! All of the sports that I do all compliment each other so well, and I love that! It just makes so much sense now that I've put it all together. Now when I'm out surfing, I know that I'm also getting myself more and more dialed for the snowboard season and so on and so forth.

So the moral of my sharing this bit of info with you guys is—if you live in an area of the country where you can't snowboard year around, like myself, I suggest you take advantage of one or a few of the other rad sports of similar nature, they're all linked more than you think!

Thanks for your time everyone, hope this helps!
