About the Resort:
Brighton first opened in 1936 and quickly became a world-renowned ski resort, thanks in a large part to their attention to detail, their awesome trails and their commitment to excellence. They have expanded operations through the years and now have what many consider to be the best ski resort in Utah, if not the United States. Extremely family friendly and for the money, easily one of the best places to ski in the world.
What You Need to Know:
With over 1000 acres, this medium sized ski resort never feels crowded, despite their popularity. They have six very fast lifts that move nearly 12,000 people an hour and they recently completed some major renovations that have made the resort better than ever.
We found the trails to be expertly maintained and the frequent patrols make it safe and fun to ski here. They pride themselves that the entire family can use the same lift and enjoy the same trails.
This is also one of the few resorts that is extremely snowboarder friendly. The terrain here is ideal for snowboarding and you'll find plenty of jumps, tabletops and terrain parks to keep you busy. If you love a challenge, or if you're just starting out with snowboarding, you'll be able to have a lot of fun here.
Tips for Beginners:
The lessons here are very well priced and 21% of their trails are suited for beginners. The group lessons are the cheapest, but private lessons are also available if you prefer. Special lessons are provided for children and there are plenty of opportunities to learn how to ski throughout the day.
If you have never tried night skiing before, this is the ideal place to do it. 20 of the runs are completely lit and this is a new experience for many that should be tried at least once. There are three different restaurants that line the beginner trails, so if you get tired, you can easily stop off and grab something to eat before continuing on. Beginners can really get a lot out of this resort, and with the special lesson packages, it's economical to learn how to ski.
