About the Resort:
One of the most famous resorts in Utah and with good reason - it simply has a lot to offer guests. From five star accommodations to year round activities, Brian Head has made quite a reputation in the adventure and vacation industry. In winter, people flock from all over the world for a chance to ski here and there is no reason why you shouldn't give it a try too. This resort has been selected as one of the top ten family friendly ski resorts in the world and chances are, once you get here, you'll want to keep coming back.
What You Need to Know:
This is a pretty good sized resort with more than 1700 acres, 53 trails and 10 lifts. They do a great job of keeping everything moving right along and we found that it was rare to have to wait, even during the peak seasons. The rates here are very low, especially when you factor in the quality of the accommodations and how well the trails are maintained.
The season officially opens in mid-November and runs through mid-April. There are four terrain parks for snowboarders and plenty of chances for the whole family to have a great time. During the season, the resort is open from 9:30am to 4:00pm, seven days a week.
Tips for Beginners:
This is one of the few resorts in the area that is really geared towards beginners. Nearly half of all of the trails here are suitable for beginners and lessons are offered frequently throughout the day. This is a great place for kid's skiing lessons, given the low price and the fact that children under the age of five do get to ski free.
In addition to complete beginner lessons, you can also get what they call "Get Better Lessons" that are great, especially if you've been here for a week or so and have already picked up the fundamentals. You'll be able to learn some great new techniques and we've found that the instructors are very patient and they do know their fundamentals.
