About the Resort -

The Big Rock Ski Resort is known for providing glade skiing, and terrain suited for all levels of ability and age levels. The Big Rock Ski Resort is also known for providing cross country skiing excursions, snow shoe trails and plenty of other enjoyable terrain throughout a lengthy ski season. Rental equipment is available, and the Big Rock Ski Resort offers some of the most inexpensive lift tickets out of all the ski resorts in Maine. Juniors, seniors and adults can all take advance of inexpensive daily and half day lift tickets both on weekends and on weekdays, and the Big Rock Ski Resort is open all seven days of the week during school break for the winter in order to accommodate skiers visiting from all over the country.

What You Need to Know -

Snowboarders who visit the Big Rock Ski Resort are required to wear a leash. The Big Rock Ski Resort offers a peak elevation of 1,610 feet, and the mountain has recently undergone some changes and improves including a new trail featuring the Glades, and expanded snowmaking capabilities. With the addition of more lighting, night riding at the Big Rock Ski Resort is even more enjoyable now. There are 60 acres worth of skiable terrain, with 75 percent of annual snowmaking capability, and around 100 inches of annual snow. The season is set to begin around the end of November in 2008 and will continue on until mid April, weather permitting. There is a nice combination of terrain, including 30 percent of green trails for novices, 40 percent of blue trails, 30 percent black trails, and 19 total trails. The longest run is 4,500 feet or 1,372 meters, and the toughest trail on the mountain is the Chairlift Trail.

The Big Rock Ski Resort offers trained staff on hand every day, and great rates are offered for anyone who is looking to learn how to ski. The Big Rock Ski Resort also offers multi week training programs in techniques both for skiing and for snowboarding, as well as programs devoted to racing.

Fees -

For adults, full day lift tickets cost $10 dollars on week days and $20 dollars on weekends. Half day tickets on weekends and on holidays cost $15 for adults. For juniors, full day lift tickets are also $10 dollars on week days, and are $10 on weekends and holidays as well. For seniors, full day lift tickets cost $10 dollars on week days, $20 on weekends and $15 on weekends for half days. The Big Rock Ski Resort also offers rental gear, with ski packages and snowboard packages costing $10 dollars for adults, juniors and seniors alike.
