About the Resort:

This is a great, all inclusive ski resort located in the heart of the Sierra's. They have a fantastic reputation as being a great place to bring the family, even if not everyone likes to ski. There are more than enough activities to keep everyone busy, and there are a variety of on-mountain activities to tackle, such as snowboarding, tubing, cross country skiing and downhill skiing. The resort offers special packages that are designed with guests in mind and we found that the staff was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Definitely one of the nicest resorts in the area.

What You Need to Know:

Bear Valley Mountain is open from mid-November through mid-April. They are typically open from 9am to 4pm, but there are days when they may have to close early due to weather. This area gets quite a bit of snow each year, but in case there is a bad season, they also make snow on site to keep the trails running at top condition.

There are plenty of places to eat and shop while you're here and this is a great resort if you are planning a weekend getaway or a longer vacation. Anything you could ever need is right here under one roof, and it's truly hard to leave once your vacation is over. The resort has a high rate of return customers and it's easy to see why after one stay.

Tips for Beginners:

25% of the mountain's trails are suitable for beginners, and the cross country areas and terrain park are also ideal. They now offer trail maps that can be loaded onto your GPS system and we highly recommend taking advantage of this feature if you are a beginner. Patrols are frequent and this is a very safe place to ski, regardless of your skill level.

There are some great instructors here that are very well versed in coaching beginners and the resort also offers special inclusive packages for new skiers that include not only lessons, but all the rental equipment you'll need. We recommend this resort to beginning skiers wholeheartedly.
